Trees Atlanta 2026 Root Ball

Trees Atlanta 2026 Root Ball

Completed: Spring 2026

Client: Trees Atlanta

Scope of Work: Event Design

Root Ball is Trees Atlanta’s annual celebration of the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum, and the event identity was built around the idea of movement through landscape — pathways, rhythms, crossings, the choreography of people moving through the city and its tree canopy at the same time. Somewhere along the way, that evolved into a visual system inspired by dance notation and patterned footsteps across a floor, which ended up giving the whole thing a really joyful sense of motion.

I designed the event materials across invitations, signage, print collateral, social assets, and environmental graphics, using layered step patterns and branching pathways that echoed both dance diagrams and trail systems. It felt important that the design didn’t become overly “forest gala.” Trees Atlanta already has warmth and personality as an organization. The visuals could afford to be lighter on their feet a little.
