Every November 17th, no matter what day of the week it falls on, we throw a show. This year it's a Tuesday. We don't care. There will be drinks.
The constraint is this: All Prints are 11×17”. That's the whole premise. One format, infinite possibilities.
Here's the deal:
10 designers x 10 nonprofit organizations
You make one design using up to 3-4 colors
We cover paper and print it on our Risograph printer
We pay you $200 for your work
Editions of your print get sold at the opening, and 100% of those sales go to whatever nonprofit you care about
Everyone's print plus a short statement from you goes into a companion zine that guests take home. Year one becomes year two becomes a whole little archive of 11×17 Days.
The vibe: Real opening energy. Good music. Maybe an auction. Could be a gallery, could be somewhere weirder.
Key dates:
August 15: Formal open call for artists
September 15: Artists chosen for 11×17 Day
October 15: Final artwork due
November 17th: 11×17 Day
